Prepress
After we analyze your artwork for the label printing process, there are several steps that need to be taken before your order is press ready.

First, your order needs to be ripped to film. This process involves stepping, repeating & distorting your label so once wrapped around the print cylinder it fits correctly to your final label size. The film is then developed. Each color of your label has its own piece of film with a wrong read series of images.

Your film is then placed on a piece of photopolymer plate material and sent through a washout process. The negative areas are washed away leaving only the raised images and text of your label. The plates are then placed in an oven to cure.

Once the drying process is complete the plates are then cut up, one plate corresponds to each
color of your label. The plates are then inspected, matched up to your signed proof and job ticket and sent to production for scheduling.
